An accused killer paid big bucks to get out of jail and a convicted killer who hasn’t paid a dime is going back to prison to serve the remainder of his sentence.
Clifton McGruder, 24, was released from the Jones County Adult Detention Center on $2 million bond on Wednesday, two days after making his initial appearance in Laurel Municipal Court. Jail records show that he used Alpha Bail Bonding Co. of Hattiesburg, meaning he would have had to pay 10 percent of the total — or $200,000.
