Brett Young's Tattoos Represent His Career Journey
If you've seen Brett Young in short sleeves, you've likely noticed that the rising country star is sporting a number of tattoos. His left arm is home to a decently-sized sleeve, though that piece is really made up of a number of interwoven tats.
A majority of Young’s tattoos can be found on his arms and chest. The aforementioned sleeve follows the singer's move from California to Tennessee, while a chest piece was done in Scottsdale, Ariz.
JA contest at Palmer crowns business titans
Students from seven area high schools earned the opportunity to compete in the Drs. David & Agnes Palmer Junior Achievement Titan Competition on Wednesday, Nov. 16 at Palmer College, Davenport.
The competition — sponsored by Vickie Anne Palmer in honor of her parents — was won by Mediapolis High School. Second place went to Pleasant Valley High School and third to Wilton High School.
The JA Titan Competition is a business strategy tournament in which high school students compete as business CEOs in the cell phone industry, experiencing firsthand how an organization evaluates alternatives, makes decisions, analyzes the outcomes of those decisions, and then strategizes what to do next, according to Moline-based Junior Achievement.

Kelly Clarkson once again proved she is the GOAT of covers with her powerful rendition of "Desperado." She included The Eagles hit in her Kellyoke segment on her talk show, the Kelly Clarkson Show, in early December.
Although she opted to keep the song stripped down to just a simple piano accompaniment, Clarkson did not hold back with her vocals. As the song progressed to the third verse, she let her voice speak to the lyrics' pleading nature, driving into the high notes without hesitation.

Jason Aldean Named 2022 Artist Humanitarian Award Recipient
Jason Aldean is being recognized for his continued philanthropy. The "Night Train" hitmaker has been named the 2022 recipient of the Country Radio Broadcasters' Artist Humanitarian Award.
Aldean will accept the honor during the annual Country Radio Seminar, which will be held Feb. 23-25 in Nashville and virtually.
The country star — a multi-Platinum artist with two dozen No. 1 hits to his name — has supported numerous charitable organizations over the course of his career by raising millions of dollars to further their work.
Take a Walk With Carrie Underwood Through Her High School
Carrie Underwood recently went home to Checotah, Okla., for a walk down memory lane and through her high school halls. When asked what she was like in high school, the humble singer insists she was "average" before Extra panned to a picture of her as a teen.
In her high school, a plaque is on display of Underwood in the Fine Arts building, and one of the wings is now named after her. It's something the superstar admits she felt weird about for a while.

The suspect in a shooting that left two dead and one wounded in Laurel at midday Monday has been identified as 19-year-old Ronald Buckley.
Mary Ann Collins, 19, of Laurel and Travion Barnett, 22, of Laurel were pronounced dead at the scene, in front of Loper’s Laundry at West 10th Street and 13th Avenue. Another victim who suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg was not identified.
“The LPD would like to extend our condolences to the families of the victims in this tragic incident,” Chief Tommy Cox said in a press release.
